Dr. Thirupathi Barla, born in Telangana, India, received his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University (2008) and completed his Ph.D. at CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, under the guidance of Dr. D. K. Mohapatra (2009-2014). He subsequently gained industrial research experience at Sai Life Sciences, Hyderabad, before joining Harvard University as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. E. J. Corey (2015-2018).

Since July 2018, Dr. Barla has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at IISER Berhampur. His research focuses on total synthesis of biologically active natural products, enantioselective catalysis, and the development of efficient synthetic methodologies with high levels of selectivity and purity.
